The Grove’s Park transformed into a blush-pink boutique where slime met self-care, and kids got the ultimate glow-up experience.

At The Grove this weekend, summer got a stylish little twist, and it came in a swirl of pastel colors, glitter, and goo. But this wasn’t just any toy event. The Gui Gui Slime Boutique, a two-day immersive pop-up from Moose Toys, transformed the iconic shopping destination into a beauty-meets-play experience for kids, families, and yes, even adults who couldn’t resist the charm.

The event celebrated the global launch of Gui Gui, a new beauty-inspired slime brand that combines tactile play with the aesthetics of skincare. Imagine a jar of whipped slime that resembles a moisturizer, sparkles like a highlighter, and features surprise collectible characters that would make any toy shelf proud. This is slime with style.

The pop-up invited families to enter a dreamy pink boutique, where everything, from the signage to the slime jars, was designed with Instagram in mind. The entrance arch, labeled “Beautify Your Slime,” opened to rows of product displays, shimmering mix-ins, and hands-on slime stations that offered an elevated sensory experience.

Inside, guests were taken through Gui Gui’s five-step process for creating slime. Step one begins with unboxing the slime, followed by adding a texture booster. The third step is the glow-up, where kids can mix in their favorite charms. Step four adds a surprise collectible figurine. Finally, step five tops it all off with a glittery sparkle finish. Each slime jar becomes a custom work of art, created by its young designer.

The slime itself comes in four different textures: cloud, butter, gloss, and clear. There are 13 different styles to collect, including one exclusive. The jars resemble high-end skincare containers, and each one contains a miniature collectible character hidden inside. These figurines are bursting with personality, often styled in playful outfits, with bright expressions and glittery accessories.

What sets this brand apart is how it mirrors real beauty routines in a fun and age-appropriate way. Kids get to play makeup artist, but instead of face masks and serums, they’re stretching slime and adding sparkle. It’s the perfect blend of pretend play and creativity, designed to engage multiple senses.

The event was buzzing with energy. Pink-clad brand ambassadors guided kids through each slime station, offering mixing advice and cheering on their unique creations. Children lined up to choose colors, scents, sprinkle charms, and pose with their finished masterpieces at the photo booth. The atmosphere was part beauty bar, part candy shop, and part art studio.

Celebrity guests Sydney Morgan and Allison Holker added some extra excitement to the event. But the real star was the overall experience. Parents were visibly impressed by the setup, the creativity on display, and the way their kids lit up while designing their slime jars. It was family fun with flair, and entirely free for all who attended.

Events like this are what truly define LA Living. It’s not just about the sunshine or the location. It’s about those experiences that feel elevated, thoughtful, and just a bit glamorous, even when they involve slime. At the Gui Gui boutique, everything was beautifully curated, fun to touch, and unforgettable. You leave with a one-of-a-kind creation and a camera roll full of sparkle.

If you're searching for a standout summer activity that blends creativity with a bit of sparkle, Gui Gui is the perfect pick. The brand has officially launched at Target, Amazon, and Walmart so that the fun can continue long after the event. But for those who got to attend in person, the magic of beautifying your slime in the middle of The Grove was something special.
