As the holiday season begins its slow, sparkling creep into Southern California, one thing is sure: no place does festive magic quite like The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa in Riverside. A crown jewel of California history and hospitality, the inn is preparing to illuminate the region once again with its iconic Mission Inn Festival of Lights, a spectacle so enchanting it draws visitors from all over the world.

This beloved holiday tradition, now in its 33rd year, returns for the 2025 holiday season, promising its most significant and brightest celebration yet. Presented by the property’s Keepers, Kelly and Duane Roberts, the festival transforms the entire hotel and surrounding streets into a glowing winter wonderland. It's presented by Kelly and the late Duane Roberts.

The Switch-On Ceremony featured a moving tribute to the late Duane Roberts and set the tone for a festive season ahead.

And the numbers? They’re astonishing:

Over 10 million lights, the most in California.

More than 100 Christmas trees.

A world-inspired Candy Lane Store.

A star-studded concert lineup.

And, of course, Santa himself.

If you’re looking to feel festive this season, look no further.

A Legendary “Switch On” Moment

The festival kicked off with the fan-favorite Switch On Ceremony, when millions of lights flicker to life in a single magical moment. The ceremony is followed by a high-energy public concert featuring performances by Matt Mauser and The Tijuana Dogs, making opening night a true SoCal holiday event.

For families, the fun continues with an array of holiday rides, including the Fantasy Carousel, Balloon Ferris Wheel, Christmas-themed games, a bounce house, and more, turning the historic property into a nostalgic Christmas carnival.

A Tradition Rooted in Community & Celebration

For more than three decades, the Festival of Lights has captured the hearts of guests across the Inland Empire and beyond. Recognized by USA Today as the Best Public Lights Display, the festival continues to grow each year, cementing its place as one of California’s most treasured holiday experiences.

“The Festival of Lights has always been about community, celebration, and creating magical memories,” shares Kelly Roberts. “We’re thrilled to welcome guests back for another unforgettable season.”
