There are few places more fitting for a summer culinary celebration than VEA Newport Beach Resort & Spa. Perched above the sparkling coastline with sweeping Pacific Ocean views, the resort provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable afternoon as guests gathered to celebrate the launch of the highly anticipated BESO Burger collaboration with acclaimed chef, restaurateur, and Season 7 finalist on Bravo's "Top Chef," Chef Angelo Sosa.


With brilliant blue skies, a refreshing ocean breeze, and panoramic coastal scenery, the atmosphere captured everything that makes Newport Beach one of Southern California's premier luxury destinations. From the moment guests arrived, the energy was relaxed, vibrant, and unmistakably summer.



Beginning July 14 through September 30, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Chef Sosa's exclusive seasonal menu throughout the resort, bringing together elevated comfort food, fresh coastal flavors, and playful culinary creativity.

The afternoon's undeniable star was the BESO Burger, an elevated interpretation of the classic American favorite. Crafted with premium 100% American Wagyu smash-grilled beef, layered with perfectly melted American cheese, and paired with Chef


Sosa's signature French Fry Vanilla Milkshake delivered an indulgent balance of savory and sweet that immediately became the talk of the event. Guests also enjoyed a refreshing selection of sakes that complemented the burger's rich flavors.


At VIEW Restaurant, Chef Sosa showcased a menu inspired by fresh ingredients and vibrant coastal influences. The Tuna Tostada offered bright, clean flavors with every bite, while the Street Corn Tostada delivered a satisfying balance of texture and spice. The Fish Taco highlighted Southern California's love for fresh seafood with a refined presentation, and the Vanilla Bean Flan provided an elegant finish to the meal. To complete the experience, guests sipped the refreshing Hibiscus & Pineapple Agua Fresca, available in both traditional and zero-proof versions.



What made the afternoon especially memorable was Chef Angelo Sosa himself. Throughout the celebration, he warmly welcomed guests, personally checked on every table, discussed the inspiration behind each dish, and ensured everyone experienced the menu exactly as intended. His passion for hospitality was evident in every interaction, making guests feel less like attendees and more like friends gathered around his table.


The celebration continued at EDGE Bar, Newport Beach's largest outdoor bar, where guests enjoyed tray-passed bites, handcrafted cocktails, lively conversation, and a soundtrack of energetic 80s and 90s-inspired remixes spun by the event's DJ. The relaxed outdoor setting, paired with exceptional food and ocean views, created the perfect environment to celebrate the beginning of what promises to become one of the season's most sought-after dining experiences.
