There are Earth Day celebrations, and then there are evenings that feel like a love letter to culture, community, and conscious living. ECOS delivered the latter in unforgettable fashion with its Earth Day Celebration and the premiere of a celebrity commercial starring Nia Vardalos, hosted at the company’s remarkable headquarters in Cypress by Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks, President and CEO of ECOS.

From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was more than a product launch. It was a celebration of legacy.

Part Earth Day gathering, part family-style Greek fête, the evening reflected the soul of ECOS and the heritage that continues to shape the brand. Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks, President and CEO of ECOS, welcomed guests with the warmth of a true host, setting a tone that was intimate, joyful, and deeply personal. As Vardalos joked to the crowd, “It’s going to feel like a Greek wedding,” and she wasn’t wrong.

It did.

There was the unmistakable energy of a Greek celebration in the air, from spirited music and dancing to long tables overflowing with traditional cuisine, laughter, and heartfelt storytelling. Hospitality was not a detail of the evening; it was the heartbeat.

The premiere of ECOS’ new national commercial campaign with Vardalos added a cinematic layer to the event, bringing humor and heart to the brand’s sustainability mission while honoring its Greek roots. The campaign reflected ECOS’ ability to blend purpose with personality, delivering a message of conscious living through storytelling and charm.

But perhaps the most memorable part of the evening came before the celebration even began.

Guests were invited behind the scenes for a tour of the ECOS campus and manufacturing facility, an experience as impressive as any design-forward headquarters in California. Immaculate hardly begins to describe it. The facility was pristine, almost impossibly so, with not a speck of dust in sight. Walking through the production spaces where ECOS products are made felt less like touring a factory and more like stepping inside a wellness laboratory.

And the scent.

Fresh notes of lemon, orange, lavender, and lemongrass drifted through the air, turning the tour into a sensory experience. It was a vivid reminder that sustainability, when done right, can feel luxurious.

Seeing where the products are crafted gave a new dimension to the brand’s ethos. What often gets marketed as “green” elsewhere feels lived and embodied at ECOS.

That authenticity has long been part of what makes the company resonate, and it was palpable throughout the evening.

The celebration also honored the company’s deeper story, rooted in family values and carried forward by Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks, President and CEO of ECOS, with both reverence and innovation. In a world increasingly hungry for brands with values, ECOS feels less like a corporation and more like a family with a mission.

Which is perhaps why the evening felt so personal.

There was glamour, certainly. A beloved film icon. A commercial debut. A beautiful guest list. But what lingered was something rarer: sincerity.

An Earth Day event became a cultural celebration. A commercial premiere became a shared experience. A sustainability brand became, for one night, the host of the most joyful Greek gathering in town.

And yes, it did feel a little like a Greek wedding.

Only this one smelled like lavender and lemongrass.
