In a city where everyone wants to be seen, few know how to truly see people the way Oxana Alex does. The Los Angeles-based photographer has built a flourishing career not only through her technical skill but through her unique ability to preserve emotion, memory, and beauty in a single frame. With over 3,000 shoots, 143 features, and a style all her own, Oxana’s journey from creative mom to widely published photographer is one worth spotlighting.
For Oxana, photography wasn’t just a career choice, it was personal.
“Growing up, I didn’t have many photos of myself as a child, and that really stayed with me,” she shares. “I didn’t want the same for my kids.”
So she picked up a camera. Initially, her subjects were just her children, capturing their joy, growth, and wonder. But what began as a mom with a mission quickly evolved into a deeper calling. Her talent blossomed as she began photographing friends and eventually strangers, all while sharpening her craft through courses at UCLA and international workshops in France and Canada.
Now, twelve years into her career, Oxana has photographed thousands of sessions and built a brand rooted in heartfelt storytelling. “Each session is still as meaningful as the very first because these memories truly matter.”

Despite her growing fame and impressive client list that includes celebrities and influencers, Oxana remains grounded.
“One thing I really enjoy about shooting celebrities is that they know their angles. They make the shoot seamless,” she says. “But what people don’t realize is that, at the end of the day, they’re human. Down-to-earth. You sometimes forget how many followers they even have.”
Whether working with a rising TikTok star or a veteran actor, Oxana brings the same level of care, precision, and artistry to every shoot. “Celebrities may come with bigger teams or stronger expectations, but the essence is the same it’s still about capturing a real moment.”
Of all her career achievements, a few stand out as particularly meaningful.
“Being featured in three successful magazines was huge,” she says. “But even more rewarding? Seeing my kids published. That, as a mom, was such a proud moment.”
She also finds deep fulfillment in mentoring others, recently stepping into the role of photography judge and teacher. “I love being a resource to others now, and I’m proud to have built a business that not only thrives but brings people back, year after year.”
Balancing a high-demand photography career with personal well-being isn’t easy, but Oxana makes it a priority.
“My life outside of photography centers around balance, family, and health,” she says. “A healthy diet gives me the energy I need for shoots, and I stay grounded through hiking, massages, yoga, and Pilates.”
That internal balance directly informs her ability to show up for clients physically and creatively. “You can’t pour from an empty cup.”
Behind each seemingly effortless photo lies hours of planning and post-production.
“What people don’t see is that a shoot is a full production,” she explains. “I usually arrive 2 to 3 hours before the client. I check lighting, scout angles, prep the background its all very intentional.”
Once the shoot wraps, the work continues. “I’ll spend another 3 hours selecting, color correcting, and editing to bring that vision to life.” In total, a single session can span 8 to 14 hours, and Oxana is hands-on every step of the way.
With an eye on the future, Oxana sees herself stepping even further into education.
“I’m gravitating toward teaching,” she says. “I want to help beginners grow faster and succeed in all aspects of the business from creative to client relations.”
Oxana is also no stranger to being on the other side of the lens. With a modeling background, she’s comfortable being photographed and that dual experience informs her work.
“Being both behind and in front of the camera gives me a unique perspective,” she shares. “I can demonstrate poses and understand what my clients are feeling. It helps me connect, guide, and create an empowering experience.”
At its core, Oxana’s work is about visibility helping people feel seen, celebrated, and remembered. And in a world of fleeting images and fast scrolls, her artistry is a timeless reminder of the beauty in being present.
